Happyland Friends

I love Ronald McDonald even though this was the first time the kiddos have ever been in the inside of a McDonald's restaurant and we didn't actually buy anything to eat just spent time looking around while we waited for the traffic to move along on day 2 of our road trip. I remember playing on these characters as a child and ate many hamburgers back them before I became a vegetarian but even better than their cheesburgers is what the Ronald McDonald Charities do for families/kids all around the country and I hope to continue to do what I can to help them in the future through my photography and fundraisers.

{SH} Sundays #5

This is the first time I've been online since Tuesday! Between moving then heading off for a trip back home and visiting I haven't even opened a computer or turned on a television and my phone can be seen being used on an episode of the Flintstones, but it was nice to have an uninterrupted road trip with the kiddos.

Love this giant painted hand check back tomorrow to find out who it belongs to!

They hadn't had any rain up here where were staying and the grass is pretty brown so this is from right before we left home where we have plenty of rain and green grassy fields.

We were on the road for three days heading back to visit family and I just love all the bridges along the way so I kept my camera close and snapped a few, I'm an expert of the driving by shooting, that's newspaper talk for when the photographer doesn't even get out of the car to take a photo, my kids think that's funny. This bridge was in Ohio can you guess the city?

My beautiful girl with her long eyelashes as the sun was setting.

Ohio has the fluffiest clouds ever! They look like giant cottonballs, I wish I could just go up and lay one and take a nap, but a blanket on the grass watching them roll by was just as good.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

{WW}: Movin' Right Along

We are ever so thankful for all the friends and new friends and strangers that came over to help us move even in this extreme July heat, it was quite a task, we couldn't have done it with out all the time, muscle and sweat that everyone put into this nearly insurmountable task, we truly thank you!

( now in the voices of Kermit and Fozzie lets all sing)

 We're movin' right along
 Footloose and fancy-free
Getting there is half the fun, come share it with me.
Movin' right along
We'll learn to share the load

Moving Day

Today I am recovering from heat exhaustion, again.
The usual hot one minute, chills the next and to top it off it's officially moving day.
In the past I've been pregnant, recovering from bronchitis, the flu or mending a broken rib when we move
so I guess it would have been nice strange not to have some sort of affliction today.

It will be nice to settle in and then head off the visit friends and family for a much need break.

And I"ll be looking for someone to babysit Stream's pet fish Mr. Finn while were gone,
don't tell her I almost forgot.

{SH} Sunday #4

The week has flown by, between the moving, starting up my own photography business (only 8 more weeks left at the newspaper it's going to be strange, 13 years is a long time but not when you were doing something you love.) and a few last minute photo session has left me up to my eyeballs in boxes and somewhere around here are my kids hopefully packing their bags for our trip and not hiding from the chaos.

Yes I'm crazy enough to plan a 3000 mile road trip for the day after we move, can't wait to see some old friends and meet all their little ones!

Sisters are the best!

Time Together

Spending time at the pool with friends is a great way to cool down.

Tell Me a Story

I never had an older sister but I now how great it would have been after watching my girls help eachother.

There is no greater kitty love than Snowball with her mouse.

Crazy hair seems to run in the family.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

Summer Daze: at the beach

Since I posted crazy hair photos of her sisters this week here and here, I had to show
everyone what happened to little ms. eco when I took her to the beach today.

Hair ties are not in her vocabulary or a brush.

DIY: Old Screen Art Frame

I was pondering through sale items at a local antique shop when the owner reduced the price on a pair of old window screens, she told me she had had them for a while and could come up with what to use them for, crazy have it I was looking for something to display recent photos of my 4 kiddos and that's what I initially used the screens for until they did these adorable dog paintings that I had to show off.

The screens already had hanging hooks on them so all I did was attach a bracket to the backside to hold them together and hung it on the wall. Then took 4 paperclips and put them through the screen and slide the watercolor paintings onto the paperclip, so simple and I can easily change the art out anytime.

I love all the holes in the screen and chippy paint in contrast with the bright colors in the artwork.

Box(es) of Rain

Did you ever have on of those days that drives you hair flippin' crazy?

Everything that can get lost does and anything that shouldn't get wet will.
I have mounds of boxes all over the house making it impossible to walk or find anything useful, have you seen my kids? Or on second thought let me have a few moments to myself before I move for the 6th time in 6 years and with it raining cats and dogs outside I'll probably have to postpone the photo shoot I have for today.
We can almost float a canoe down the street, seriously! If I had one.

But the day must go on as hair raising as it gets.

And it's just a box of rain, I don't know who put it there,
Believe it if you need it, or leave it if you dare.
And it's just a box of rain, or a ribbon for your hair;
Such a long long time to be gone, and a short time to be there.

{WW}: Three Sisters

The best things in life: Accidentally overhearing someone say something nice about you, waking up and realizing you still have a few hours left to sleep, first kisses, making new friends and spending time with the old ones, singing in the bathroom, sweet dreams, hot chocolate, making brownies and eating cookies, holding hands with someone you care about, watching a sunset, sleeping in, taking long hot showers, knowing that somebody misses you and sisters.

and then......

Love my girls!
